It’s the tourists’ curse to get ripped off by taxi drivers everywhere they go. It was true, until the ride hailing apps came along. This revolutionary invention made taxi riding easier for both the drivers and the passengers.
Iranian online taxi services were debuted about 5 years ago when Snapp was created. Since then a number of other apps came along, Tap30 being the second largest one. Tap30 offers cheaper price ranges on certain routes, and benefits from a quick and efficient customer support service.
Tap30 is active only on certain cities of Iran, including: Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan city, Shiraz, Tabriz city, Mashhad, Lahijan, Bandar-e Anzali, Rasht city, Oromia, Ahvaz, Qazvin and Bandar-e-Abbas.

How to Install Tap30?
Tap30, like most of the other Iranian Online Taxi Services, is available for both Android and iOS.
After downloading and installing the app, open it. At the first page click on English and wait for the app to restart and run in the English Language. Now you would need to enter your full name and your Iranian phone number, which you must have acquired either from the airport or one of the Sim card shops around the town.
Then you’ll receive a verification code through SMS from Tap30 and by entering that, your registration would be complete.
How to use Iranian Online Taxi
Most of the ride hailing apps in Iran including Tap30 have pretty much the same function.
First, you have to choose your origin (or just turn GPS on and click on the sign at the bottom right corner so the Tap30 can find you automatically) and then either choose your destination on the map or use the search bar to do so.
Then you can see available rides around you and the price so you won’t have to negotiate anymore, another benefit of using a ride hailing app in Iran.
At the end, just click on the large black bar on the button of the screen, and wait for a Tap30 driver to confirm. After a driver has confirmed, you can see his name, photo and his license plate written in Farsi.
If you think you need to contact the Tap30 driver, you can bring up the swipe menu and click on “phone” button.
The only problem is that most of the Iranian online taxi drivers only may speak Farsi. In this case, we highly recommend you to find a local and ask him/her to direct the driver to you; but if even that wasn’t an option, knowing a couple of phrases could help you in this scenario.
First of all, it’s better for you to inform the Tap30 driver that you can’t speak any Persian by saying: “Farsi Balad Nistam”
“Shoma Kojaeed” or “Koja Hastid” means “where are you”. It’s better if you stay by a store, bank, intersection or any specific address, so you can just name that place to the driver.
Or if you are staying exactly at the point that you chose on the map, you can say: “Man dar Location istadam” means “I am on the pointed location right now”.
Tap30 lets you choose more than one destination for one ride. To do so, you can simply click on “add destination” button, after you have chosen your first one.
If you would like to inform a friend or family member about your location while using Iranian online taxi like Tap30, you may bring up the swipe menu, and click on share status.
Whoever receives this link, can see your live location until you reach your destination.
